What's my item worth?

That ring in the drawer. What is it worth?

Maybe it's your grandmother's wedding ring, a coin your dad kept, or a watch nobody has worn in years. Add 3 to 6 photos, pay, done. We'll look it up the careful way and tell you, in plain English, what it is likely worth.

Things people check at home

Jewelry and rings

Wedding bands, engagement rings, lockets and chains. We look for karat stamps and maker's marks.

Coins

Silver dollars, old cents and proof sets. A small mint mark can change the value.

Watches

Pocket watches and wristwatches. The brand, the movement and the condition all matter.

Silver

Flatware, tea sets and trays. We tell sterling apart from silver plate.

Art

Paintings, prints and drawings. Signatures, labels and frames give clues.

Collectibles

Sports cards, stamps, toys, pottery and other keepsakes.

How it works

  1. Add 3 to 6 photos in the form below, then pick your pack and pay on Stripe's secure checkout page. That's it. Your sheet arrives by email.
  2. We do 5 or more confirmed checks. We compare your item with real, completed sales and link to each one, so you can see the proof yourself.
  3. You get a one-item sheet with a value range, a confidence rating, a likely sell price, and the best places to sell it with their current seller fees.

Help us see your item clearly: 3 to 6 photos

The more we can see, the tighter and more confident your estimate will be. Please include:

  1. Front: the whole item, straight on, in good light.
  2. Back: the whole reverse or underside.
  3. Marks, stamps or hallmarks: mint marks, maker's marks, signatures, serial numbers, karat or sterling stamps, and labels on any holder, box or certificate.
  4. Close-up of detail or damage: chips, scratches, cracks, repairs, wear, or anything that looks unusual.
  5. Size reference (if you can): the item next to a ruler, or next to a common coin such as a quarter.
  6. Extras (optional): the original box, papers, receipts or certificate of authenticity.

Tips: Use daylight or a bright lamp, avoid flash glare, and keep the camera steady. Fill the frame with the item. Don't clean or polish anything before you photograph it, because cleaning can lower the value.

Questions about What's my item worth?

How do you figure out the value of gold or silver without holding it?

We don't guess at purity. We read the hallmarks in your photos (14K, 18K, 925, Sterling and so on). If there's no mark, we say so and give a wider, lower-confidence range. We take the weight you give us, or estimate it from size if you don't have one, and multiply it by that day's gold or silver spot price to get a melt value. Then we compare it with at least five recent sold prices for similar items to get a likely selling price.

Why do you need several photos?

Front, back, marks or stamps, a close-up of details or damage, and something for size each tell us different things. 3 to 6 photos works best.

Is this an appraisal?

No. It's an informed estimate with sources and a confidence rating, not a certified appraisal for insurance or legal use.

When should I get it tested in person?

When there's no hallmark, when the value is high, or for gemstones. A jeweler's acid test or X-ray fluorescence (XRF) test, or a gem appraisal, can confirm it.

Do I need to weigh it?

It helps a lot. A kitchen or postal scale in grams is fine. Without a weight, the range is wider.

What about stones?

We note what's visible, but we can't confirm whether a stone is real from a photo, and we'll say so on your sheet.

What do I get back?

A one-item sheet with a value range, the sources we checked, a confidence rating, and the best places to sell with each site's current fees.
